Pokwang reveals having personal touch with ‘Kusina ni Mamang’

Pokwang said she suggested the cooking program during a conversation with the showrunners of Kusina ni Mamang.

Pokwang or Marietta Subong revealed she had a ‘personal touch’ with her BuKo originals cooking show, ‘Kusina ni Mamang.’

During an exclusive interview with RAWR Nation, Pokwang said she suggested the cooking program during a conversation with the showrunners of Kusina ni Mamang.

“Unang-una syempre nagpapasalamat muna ako kila Direk Mike. Thank you, thank you so much.

Ganito ganyan, tuwang-tuwa sila.”

She also shared that she wanted to introduce the traditional way of cooking to the Millenials.

‘Yung wala pang microwave, ‘yung wala pa ‘yung pressure cooker. ‘Yung back to basics na ganon. ‘Yung magprepara ng mga pagkain.”

She then shared behind the scene stories about her Millenial guests and how much they learned from her cooking show.

“Karamihan nga noong mga naging bisita namin, mga millenials. So, nakakatuwa ‘yung reaction nila na ay ganito pala gawin ‘yan. Ay ganito pala ito. So nakakatuwa, kasi binabalik mo ‘yung lumang pamamaraan ng pagluluto. At the same time, ang saya-saya kasing balikan ‘yung dati.”

Pokwang’s cooking show, Kusina ni Mamang, is on the first 24-hour comedy channel BuKo, every Saturday 8 pm on Cignal TV and SatLite TV. She hosts the program alongside radio DJ Jhai Ho. They highlight traditional dishes with special celebrity guests each episode.
