After Derek Ramsay rejected multiple project offers, his exclusive contract with the GMA network has been suspended.
On January 16, in an interview on DZRH, Ramsay admitted that he was the one who asked for the suspension of his contract with the Network.
“Freeze, suspended, it’s more like it. Kasi nung inalok sa akin yung To Have and To Hold, yung teleserye ni Rocco, si Carla Abellana, si Max Collins, nag-backout ako kasi prinioritize ko muna yung pamilya at ang nangyayari ngayon sa COVID.
“So, naintindihan naman ng GMA yun, they respected my decision.”
Ramsay shared he is afraid of working outside, considering the COVID-19 situation and he is living with his parents.
“So, nag-decide kami na i-suspend muna yung kontrata, na ready na ako magtrabaho when I feel na it’s safe na to work. Pero mukhang good choice kasi, kita niyo ngayon, record-breaking, pataas nang pataas ang number ng cases.
“Prioritize ko muna yung pamilya ko. Tapos pag ready na daw ako, puwede nang i-reactivate yung kontrata,” he stated.
On April 2021, Ramsay backed out from the Kapuso drama series, To Have and To Hold. Kapuso star Rocco Nacino has taken his place with Abellana and Max Collins.
Ramsay and Andrea Torres were supposed to star in the GMA Network’s Sanggang Dikit. But after their separation, the project did not push through.
