On January 31, breakout star Gigi De Lana said she dedicates her latest single, O Bakit Ba, in her self-titled album to people who are “martir” when it comes to love.
During the media conference for her album launch, De Lana noted that her key track, O Bakit Ba, is meant for people who don’t give up on love.
And hanggang ngayon ganon pa din.
De Lana then shared her experience recording the song with ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo.
“My experience, super, super, super saya tsaka ang dami kong natutunan lalo na with sir Jonathan. It’s our first time to record our album.
“Kasi grabe ‘yung experience, ‘yung first song na ni-record namin was ‘yung, Sakalam and O Bakit Ba, ‘yung una hindi pa namin alam ‘yung gagawin namin. We really didn’t know what we were doing kasi first time namin mag-record ng original sa ibang studio.”
She recalled her satisfaction seeing her Gigi Vibes and their journey while recording her first album.
“Tapos natuwa ako noong nabubuo naming paunti-unti ‘yung songs.
De Lana’s self-titled album under Star Music is available on all digital platforms. She and her band Gigi Vibes co-wrote several songs for the album.
The track includes O Bakit Ba, Sakalam, Nasayo Ako, Bibitawan, First Night, Topak, Isang Idlip, Letting Go, and Huling Lapit. She also has a remake of the iconic OPM song, ‘Bakit Nga Ba Mahal Kita?’ in her album.
