Magkaagaw star Jeric Gonzales said on Tuesday, March 15, that he will be taking more mature roles in the future.
In the virtual media conference for his latest single, Hihintayin Kita, Gonzales recalled when his career from being a musician expanded into being an artist.
He admitted that he was challenged by acting and, at the same time, was willing to take on more daring roles in the future.
“Marami pa akong gustong gawin, marami pa akong gustong matutunan. I am in the age na medyo matured na, and then sa Magkaagaw medyo daring na talaga yung mga ginawa ko.
“So I think I’m ready na magpakita ng skin, mag-daring, magpa-sexy, hahaha,” said the 29-year-old artist.
On the other hand, his family was surprised with his decision to do mature roles. However, as religious as they are, they were supportive of him.
“Supportive naman sila. Pero ayun nga, nagugulat sila sa mga ginagawa ko ngayon sa showbiz lalo na kapag medyo sexy. Lalo na yung nanay ko, yung mom ko, gulat na lang din siya. Pero supportive naman sila, hahaha!”
Gonzales added, “Wala naman. Super proud naman sila sa lahat ng ginagawa ko ngayon.”
Hihintayin Kita will make its launch in GMA Network’s variety show All-Out Sundays on March 20. It is also available on various digital platforms worldwide.
The song is also the official soundtrack for Gonzales’ upcoming movie Broken Blooms, including Therese Malvar and Royce Cabrera. It is under the helm of esteemed director Luisito “Louie” Lagdameo Ignacio and produced by BenTria Productions.
Broken Blooms will premiere from April 1 to 10, during the Director’s Week competition program of the 41st Oporto International Film Festival held in Portugal.
