Fans of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera can no longer wait for the new sitcom, the two titled Jose and Maria’s Bonggang Villa, to be aired on the Kapuso Network.
On April 17, during the story conference for the comedy program, GMA Network First Vice President for Program Management Department Jose Mari R. Abacan hinted at a few details regarding the two’s upcoming sitcom.
“I’m very, very excited! Ang tagal-tagal ko na rin gusto makita ang [Kapuso] Primetime King and Queen ng GMA sa isang palabas na magkakasama-sama tayo. I really hope that you guys stay safe in what you’re going to be doing and na-e-excite ako dito.
“Because it’s going to be one of our primetime presentations for this year. And this is something that I’m very, very proud of.”
Abacan said that he is looking forward to seeing the chemistry of Rivera and Dantes in a sitcom.
On April 18, the hashtag #DongYanIsBack went viral on Twitter, where fans have shown their support for the two’s near comeback on Philippine TV.
On February 28, Rivera stated she is ready to have a taping on locations after already being fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.
“Tapos na ‘yung script niya, finalizing the cast, and then finalizing the date, but may mga date na kami. Reading kami and then after the reading ready to roll,” she said.
Rivera and Dantes were first seen together in the GMA Network’s adaptation of the popular Mexican series MariMar (2007).
Following their successful series, the two were given more projects together, including the Kapuso series Dyesebel (2008), Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang (2009), Endless Love (2010), and My Beloved (2012).
