The Kapamilya actor made waves online with multiple hashtags and topics about him making it to twitter’s top trends list, following his endorsement of presidential aspirant VP Leni Robredo on Monday, April 11.
Netizens and fans alike are ecstatic and delighted in finding that the ‘Ultimate Leading Man’, Piolo Pascual, officially endorsed the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo. The Kapamilya star’s official endorsement of Robredo came out via a video where Pascual also talked about what true unity looks like.
Through the video, Pascual broke his silence after being mostly mum about his political preferences. In 2016, he did not officially endorse any presidential candidate, but several unverified reports hinted that he supported the current President’s campaign.
His announcement on Monday also debunked previous claims by the supporters of Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. that it was the former dictator’s son he was supporting as president.
In his video, Pascual declared with conviction that it is only Leni Reboredo whom he will vote in the May 2022 polls.
After making the announcement, Pascual promptly made it to the trending topics on twitter, with multiple hashtags and topics about him appearing on twitter Philippines’ most trending topics list.
Papa P, the nickname he is mostly known for, lorded the chart as it topped all trending topics in the country, minutes after his announcement.
Other hashtags and topics that made it to the top 10, include #PioloForLeni, #KayLeniTotoongUnity, and the characters in his highest-grossing film, Starting Over Again: Marco, Patty, and Ginny. Marco is the name of the character he played in the film, while the other two were played by Iza Calzado and Toni Gonzaga-Soriano. It is interesting to note, however, that Gonzaga is the only one supporting Robredo’s closest rival, the defeated 2016 vice-presidentiable, Marcos Jr.
“FINALLY, Marco and Patty forever” said Nikki in her post, which features a photo of Pascual and Calzado, together.

EarlyJane, meanwhile, commended the actor for being different from other men. She noted “Superior men can only do this and one of them is Piolo Pascual, this clip is not the whole video yet, the message is so clear that it captures a lot of hearts of many Filipinos who are still fighting! Salamat Papa P sa mensahe na ito “

Mave practically has the same sentiment, as she commended how the video is not solely about Robredo but about volunteerism “Love how this video isn’t about Leni but about the PEOPLE. The volunteerism. The coming together of people from all walks of life for the same purpose. The radical love. The hope they give to each other. Thea beauty of the Pink movement. Real UNITY indeed” she shared in her tweet”
