Kapamilya heartthrob and a leading man Piolo Pascual calls for true unity in a video that features him officially endorsing his presidential bet for the 2022 national polls.
A few days after appearing for the first time in a political campaign sortie in Zamboanga, Piolo Pascual surprised netizens and fans, when he released a video clip today, April 11. In the said clip, the Kapamilya actor officially endorsed Vice President Leni Robredo as his presidential bet.
The endorsement debunked previous claims that the actor-singer was endorsing another candidate.
Pascual highlighted the importance of true unity in his video.
“Ang sarap makarinig ng salitang unity ‘no? (It’s nice to hear the word unity, right?)'” he asked, before adding that the feeling is much better when it is felt.
With the series of footage of Robredo’s recent colossal rallies, Pascual underscored why it is important to choose the right leader. He took note of the collective efforts of the Filipinos and various professional communities, as they united together to make sure everybody’s safety and well-being during the pandemic. He made mention of Robredo’s countless deeds to reach the poor and the needy in the last few years.
Ang totoong Unity ay pagkakaisa ng taumbayan. Pilipino para sa kapwa Pilipino.
Kay Leni Robredo sigurado tayo diyan. #PioloForLeni #KayLeniTotoongUnity pic.twitter.com/9i75mFbhof

“Nakaattend ka na ba ng rally ni Leni Robredo (have you attended a rally for Robredo)?” he asked, before telling the Filipino it is what true unity looks like.
“Ganito rin kasi ang pag-iisang nangyayari ‘eh (This is also how unity happens)” he added, which seems a swipe at Robredo’s main rival, Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr., whose entire political campaign has been anchored upon a call for ‘unity’.
In the video, Pascual underscored the participation of the common folks, the professionals, and various sectors of the community, in making sure that the Robredo presidency succeeds.
Pascual told voters that the true form of unity leaves no one behind. “Ang totoong pagkakaisa ay isang pangakong walang maiiwan…ang totoong pagkakaisa ay isang inspirasyon at panawagan na tayong lahat ay gumawa ng kabutihan (It is a promise that no one will leave behind…it isan inspiration and a call for us to do good)”.
“Hindi ito ang pagkakaisa ng mga political dynasty para sa sarili nilang interes…ang totoong unity ay pagkakaisa ng taong bayan (It’s not the unity among political dynasties for their own interest…true unity is the unity of the people)” he said, which again seemed to be a swipe at the UniTeam camp, which is backed by several powerful political clans and figures, including former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, former President Erap Estrada, former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, among many others, whose reputations as public servants have been tainted by issues of corruption and criminal convictions.
“Si Leni Robredo lang ang tanging iboboto kong pangulo ngayong eleksyon (It’s only Leni Robredo whom I will vote for as president this coming election,” he said in the last frame of his video.
