The new GMA Network Afternoon drama Apoy sa Langit started low compared to the ratings of its preceded show, Prima Donnas.

On May 2, Apoy Sa Langit, starring Maricel Laxa, Zoren Legaspi, Mikee Quintos, and Lianne Valentin, premiered in the GMA Network Afternoon Prime lineup, replacing Prima Donnas.

Prima Donnas culminated on April 29 with a 6.7%, tied with ABS-CBN’s The Broken Marriage Vow in the 7-8th spot.

Apoy sa Langit failed to sustain this rating during its pilot week.

Apoy sa Langit occupied the 10th spot on the leaderboards on its first episode with a 5.1% rating.

The next day, it climbed up to the 9th spot while maintaining its rating the previous day.

On May 4, Apoy sa Langit dropped to a 4.6% rating and tied with G! Flicks (Contract To Kill) in the 10-11th spot.

On May 5, Apoy sa Langit improved its rating to 4.8% and tied with another Kapuso afternoon drama Raising Mamay, in the 9-10th spot.

It ended its first week in the 11th spot with a 4.8% rating.

Apoy sa Langit features the story of a widowed jewelry designer and her lone daughter, who are given a second shot to rebuild their family. Still, life takes an unexpected turn when this “estranged daughter” turns out to be her new husband’s hidden lover.

Also part of the cast are Mariz Ricketts, Carlos Siguion-Reyna, Dave Bornea, Coleen Paz, Celine Fajardo, Mio Maranan, Jen Rosendahl, Ramon Christopher, and Patricia Ismael.

Apoy Sa Langit airs on GMA Afternoon Prime from Mondays to Fridays, after Eat Bulaga.
