The newest sitcom of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, Jose and Maria’s Bonggang Villa, earned a high rating and created a buzz online.
The sitcom marks the return of the Kapuso couple to free TV after their hiatus.
For its pilot episode on May 14, Jose and Maria’s Bonggang Villa earned a 13.5% rating, securing the top spot on the AGB Nielsen rating chart. It surpassed the ratings of the former #1 Saturday program, Magpakailanman, which earned 12.9%.
Jose and Maria’s Bonggang Villa is a clear winner for its timeslot as its rival programs; TV5’s Rated Korina and A2Z’s My Papa Pi only earned 2.4% and 2.0, respectively.
DongYan fans were truly happy with this comeback of Dantes and Rivera to screen. They also acclaimed the sitcom’s pilot episode for bringing good vibes and fun.

@kapusongkim also shared his appreciation for newbie Kapuso stars Jamir Zabarte and Zonia Mejia.
Cute! In all honesty, amongst Sparkle sweethearts, sila yung hindi cringey. Tsaka marunong naman din umarte, good enough as newbies.
Btw, cherry-picked sila ng DongYan for Bonggang Villa.

The comedy sitcom follows newlyweds Jose (Dingdong) and Maria (Marian), who have been tasked with reviving Jose’s family business—an ancient and spooky bed and breakfast. Jose and Maria renamed it the “Bonggang Villa” and formulated plans to restore it to its former glory, but they confronted challenges, including assisting the souls of the deceased to settle unfinished business.
The John Lapus-helmed sitcom is co-produced by three bodies, namely; GMA Network, APT Entertainment, and Dantes’s Agosto Dos Media. It also stars Benjie Paras, Pekto, Johnny Revilla, Shamaine Buencamino, Pinky Amador, Hershey Neri, and Loujude Gonzalez.
