The media company’s successful pivot to digital reflects really well with its bustling social media presence and ever-rising number of followers and subscribers.
ABS-CBN continues to thrive in the digital world, especially in social media, where its followers, likes, and subscribers have been tracking an upward trend. On YouTube, lifetime views keep piling up, a testament to the media entity’s strengthening presence on the video-sharing platform.
On Facebook, the world’s most used and the most-popular social media site, ABS-CBN is similarly towering over its runners-up, with the number of followers of its official main page, ABS-CBN, recently reaching 34 million. The feat came just three months since the page crossed the 33 millionth mark. ABS-CBN is way ahead of its counterpart and rival, GMA Network, whose main page’s followers tallied only 27 million. TV5, meanwhile, has 6.3 million followers.
Other leading Kapamilya pages on Facebook with significant number of followers and make up the top 10 most-followed ABS-CBN pages are: ABS-CBN news with 23,19 million followers, It’s Showtime with 14.79 million followers, TV Patrol with 11.99 million followers, ABS-CBN Film Productions Inc. (Star Cinema) with 10.2 million followers, Pinoy Big Brother with 9.78 million followers, JeepneyTV with 9.26 million followers, MYX Global with 8.73 million followers, iWantTFC with 7.1 million followers, and MMK (The Official) with 5.82 million followers. Also, with more than 5 million followers, but not in the Top 10, is the official Facebook page of STAR MAGIC 5.47 million followers.
Last week, the network announced that it climbed on the Facebook’s world’s top web publishers chart. It currently ranked 6th in the world, besting out big global news organizations like CNN, NBC News, and Al Jazeera.
Social media monitoring platform, NewsWhip, also reported that ABS-CBN News generated more than 13 million engagements on Facebook, from February 12 to March 10 of this year.
