Sing Galing Kids welcomes another certified hitmaker to its roster of Jukebosses – Gloc 9. With a string of memorable OPM tunes under his belt, the multi-awarded rapper brings his swag and skill to the Sing Galing stage to pass on the baton to a new generation of hopefuls.
Sing Galing, the first-ever karaoke game show in the Philippines, will stage another first under its brand – a kids’ edition. Sing Galing Kids is a weekly family entertainment gathering where viewers can witness the greatness and cuteness of aspiring young singers.
“At the back of my mind, iniisip ko, baka may matisod kaming super galing na bata na pagka narinig mo, mahuhulog ka sa silya mo (I’m really hoping that we can discover more remarkable young talent),” Gloc 9 hoped.
Gloc 9, called fondly as “Aris” by his peers, will take the kiddie contestants seriously.
“Minsan nakakarinig ako ng singing style na ‘classical’, pero ginagawa ng isang 5-year-old. So it only shows na wala talaga sa edad ang talent. ‘Pag nando’n, nando’n (Sometimes, I’ll hear a 5-year-old singing in classical style. It only shows that talent has no age; when one has that X-factor, you’ve hit the jackpot),” he said.
Gloc 9 joins the formidable roster of Sing Galing Nation’s OPM hitmakers and showbiz icons like Jessa Zaragoza, Dingdong Avanzado, Ronnie Liang, Ethel Booba, Allan K, Ariel Rivera, Jona and Mr. Rey Valera.
He is considered a pillar of Pinoy rap, penning hits such as “Simpleng Tao” and “Sumayaw Ka” to socially conscious tunes such as “Lando” and “Sirena.” His recordings earned him a string of recognitions from Awit Awards, the PMPC Star Awards for Music, and MYX Music Awards.
Witness Gloc 9 as he spits bars anew with “Sing Kulits” on Sing Galing Kids, premiering on July 16, 6:00 PM on TV5. Follow @singgalingtayo on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and @SingGaling on YouTube for more updates.
