On August 15, Binibining Pilipinas 2022 first runner-up Herlene Budol countered Ella Cruz’s ‘history is like chismis’ statement.
In an interview with Kapamilya broadcast journalist Karen Davila, Budol firmly stated that ‘history po is katotohanan’ (history is truth).
“No. Para sa akin po, napakasimple lang po, huwag po nating daanin sa kung ano-anong explanation… ang history po is katotohanan, ang Marites, hindi totoo… para sa akin nga, ang mga historian mga teacher na nagtuturo ng mga kasaysayan. Ang Marites, parang CCTV, social media.”
The host-turned-beauty queen also gave a house tour to Davila, citing that it was a gift from her manager, Wilbert Tolentino.
Aside from her statement, Budol also shared her thoughts on divorce, abortion, and same-sex marriage.
