On August 16, Viva Artist Agency discussed why they signed with the beauty queen-host Ruffa Gutierrez.
At the media conference for Gutierrez’s contract signing with Viva Artist Agency, which the press attended, including LionhearTV, Viva Chairman of the Board, and CEO Boss Vic Del Rosario, welcomed Gutierrez into their roster of artists while hinting at their desire to expand her career.
“I’d like to welcome Ruffa, and alam dati naman talaga silang Viva and baka dito lalo pang sumigla ang career niya. Alam ko naman na narating naman na niya ‘yung dapat niyang marating. Pero, gawan namin ng plano siya para lalong mag-expand ang kaniyang potential as an artist bago siya mag-asawa.”
Viva Artists Agency President and COO Veronique Del Rosario-Corpus attested that they are always happy to have the Gutierrez’s in Viva.
“We’re so happy na si Ruffa ay part na ng Viva. Again, lagi naman ang Gutierrez’s, Tita Anabelle is always here, and of course, Sarah Lahbati is with us, and mahal na mahal namin ang Gutierrez’s.”
Gutierrez said she felt honored and excited to be a part of the Viva Family.
“Unang-una po sa lahat, I’m very, very honored, and excited to be a part of Viva Artist Agency.”
She also recounted her early days in showbiz and her connection with Viva even before she signed with the entertainment company.
“Since the 1980s talagang napakalapit ko na po sa aking Viva family, kay Boss Vic del Rosario, and the very first person that took me shopping po pagdating ko dito galing sa United States was the late Miss Mina Aragon.
“I remember shinopping niya po ako sa Rustan’s Makati, at nililigawan niya po ako para maging part ng Viva family. Pero, mas mabilis ng mga panahon na ‘yun si the late Donna Villa, kaya sa Golden Lions po ako pumirma.”
Gutierrez began showbiz her journey in the 1987 film Takbo…! Bilis…! Takboooo. After that, she starred in Viva Films productions such as Sheman: Mistress of the Universe and I Love You 3x a Day.
Now, Gutierrez is part of ‘It’s Showtime’s Miss Q&A segment. She also worked on the interpretation of Imelda Marcos in the Viva Films production of Maid in Malacañang.
