On August 31, Betsy PH founder Judy Anne Santos-Sierszula cited the value of the soul, creativity, and imagination to Pinoy Pride.
At the media conference for Betsy Philippines website launch with the press, including LionhearTV, Santos-Sierszula acknowledged that other sectors also need help.
“Marami namang na pwede namang tulungan, marami namang sektor ng ekonomiya na pwede nating iaddress. Most of the time, when we think of artists, we always go like– of course, the farmers had to be helped, people who need basic livelihood, need to be helped, of course, when we think when we see creative entrepreneurs, kailangan ba talaga ng time niyan.”
She also highlighted how creativity and imagination affect the pride of Filipinos.
“And what we believe is, kailangan ng kaluluwa, ng creativity and imagination. And if you take that out of people, they start to feel like I don’t deserve anything more than survival, and I don’t deserve anything more than, you know, what is normally– available for me that is cheap because I have to be content with what I have.
“And that affects our pride as Filipinos. That affects our psyche on how we deal with each other. How we deal with our work, and how we deal with our dreams for the Philippines.”
She then expressed her hopes that Betsy Philippines could help raise the bar for Filipinos by supporting creative entrepreneurs.
“So we are hoping, that by supporting creative entrepreneurs, we also raise the bar for Filipinos to dream better for themselves, so that’s extremely important for Betsy. I wouldn’t even call it a bit of a social movement because once you promote this and we gain pride from being creatives. And we have a unique identity that’s no where else in Asia.”
Betsy PH is the brainchild of entrepreneurial sisters Judy Anne and Jean Santos. They got the inspiration for the business venture through one of their travels while shopping for souvenirs.
