Kapuso stars Barbie Forteza and Dennis Trillo thanked the viewers who supported their series Maria Clara at Ibarra.
In an interview on 24 Oras‘s Chika Minute on October 5, Forteza said that she’s thankful that people appreciated her role in the series.
“Everything na mangyayari dun sa mundo ng Noli Me Tangere, through Klay’s eyes. [Ang goal] ko talaga [ay] maging as captivating, engaging si Klay.
“As an actor, it’s very fulfilling na na-appreciate ng mga tao ‘yung ginawa ko – ginawa namin,” she said.
The actress portrays the role of Klay, a working nursing student trying to make ends meet while trying to pass her Philippine History subject.
Trillo, on the other hand, said that he is excited for the viewers to see the development in the story of their series.
“Excited na rin ako na makita nila ‘yung eksena namin na ‘yun, kung paano kami magtatagpo, kung papaano kami magi-interact. ‘Yung galing sa present na makiki-interact dun sa mga tao sa past.
“Kung ano ‘yung sa tingin mo tama, ipaglalaban mo. Marami kayong makikitang mga eksenang ganun sa serye na ito,” he shared.
He plays the role of Crisostomo Ibarra, the male protagonist of Jose Rizal’s novel, and the love interest of Maria Clara played by Julie Ann San Jose.
Maria Clara at Ibarra aired its pilot episode on October 3, which was well-received by viewers as it gained a 15.1% rating on NUTAM People Ratings. Its rival series Mars Ravelo’s Darna only gained 7.1% rating.
The Kapuso series airs on GMA Network’s Telebabad block, from Mondays to Fridays, after 24 Oras. A delayed telecast airs on GTV at 9:30 pm.
