Deniece Cornejo petitioned for Vhong Navarro’s transfer, from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Detention Center to Taguig City Jail.
On September 29, Cornejo’s camp filed a Manifestation with an Urgent Motion to the court.
“It is respectfully prayed that the instant Manifestation with Urgent Motion be resolved urgently and that the Honorable Court issue an Order directing the proper officer of the National Bureau of Investigation Detention Center to immediately transfer the accused (Navarro), from the National Bureau of Investigation Detention Center to Taguig City Jail,” part of the petition said.
Atty. Alma Mallonga, Navarro’s attorney, filed a petition for bail for her client.
“The warrant of arrest with respect to the rape complaint was issued, and that case is non-bailable. Mr. Vhong Navarro has voluntarily surrendered, also in connection with the rape complaint, and he is presently detained. Under the laws and the procedure, he will continue to be detained until bail is granted to him. That will require the petition for bail to be filed and we will do it immediately,” she stated.
On September 20, Navarro surrendered to the NBI following the revival of the rape case filed against him by model Deniece Cornejo.
On September 21, via an interview, Tanya Bautista, Navarro’s wife, shared an update regarding her husband’s detention.
“Sobrang emotional na niya. Dinig ko talagang humagulgol na siya. Kasi, yun na. ‘Tapos, yung parang yakap niya. First time yung ganoon. Kasi nga mag-isa siya. Sabi ko nga sa iyo, bumabalik na naman yung trauma niya,” Bautista said.
