Netizens gave nothing but high praise for the trailer of the Kapamilya crime-thriller, Cattleya Killer, which is based on the 1996 film, Sa Aking Mga Kamay.
The film starred Aga Mulach and Christopher De Leon in lead roles and was helmed by award-winning director, Rory B. Quintos. Cattleya Killer serves as the sequel to the film and now focuses on the aftermath of Gene Rivera’s killing spree.
Directed by Dan Villegas, the 6-part sequel series has multi-awarded Kapamilya actor, Arjo Atayde, starring and acting in the lead role. Atayde plays the role of Anton de la Rosa, the son of the cop, Joven de la Rosa who cracked the case. Christopher de Leon, who starred in the original film alongside Mulach, reprises his role in this series.
In Cattleya Killer, a series of sinister murders shake Joven anew, who finds the serial killer’s modus resembles that of Rivera’s. Has Rivera returned; or is another psychopath mimicking the Cattleya Killer? De la Rosa’s world shatters when the focus of the investigation suddenly shifts to his son, Anton.
On Twitter, netizens couldn’t help but flood the platform with pure commendations and high praises for the trailer. The sleek visuals, the ominous tone, and the breathtaking brilliance of the actors are among the ones to receive the most flattering comments.

Monday Diva reminisced about the original movie, noting how it left quite an unshakable impression on him. “It’s still a new story but knowing that it’s a sequel of Sa Aking Mga Kamay at si Arjo Atayde yung batang takot sa monster doon, it breaks my heart. So the trauma lived on. I am really excited to watch this series! Peteng ina nakakalurkaaaa.”

Earlier this week, Cattleya Killer made its international debut at the 2022 MIPCOM Cannes exhibition. The series is expected to premiere in the Philippines next week.
