After focusing on the filming of his upcoming MMFF entry and ongoing singing-reality game show, the Unkabogable Phenomenal Box Office Star finally returned to the Kapamilya noontime show.
Vice Ganda officially made his It’s Showtime comeback, yesterday, October 17, to his fans and the noontime show followers’ delight. The comedian-host took a break from the show, for more than a week as the filming of his upcoming entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2022 entry, went full throttle. He has also been taping advanced episodes of his ongoing game show, Everybody Sing, whose second season premiered last month.
His new MMFF entry, Partners in Crime, is his first movie collaboration with social media superstar Ivana Alawi, who currently stars in the primetime drama, A Family Affair.
Partners in Crime marks his return to the annual film festival, after 2019’s The Mall, The Merrier, in which he starred along with It’s Showtime co-host Anne Curtis.
“Ang bongga ng Lunes, ang bongga ng linggong ito, magkakasama na tayong muli.
“(This Monday really feels great, the week looks great, because we are together again),” Vice said, greeting the live studio audience, for the first time in two weeks.
He delighted the people in the studio, as well as the netizens with his new light burgundy hair, which is just a wig.
“Guys, si Vice Ganda lang ‘to. Wala kayong bagong host (Guys, this is still Vice Ganda. You do not have a new host),” he joked after Jugs Jugueta asked if it was really him.
“Ba’t naman kayo nagulat? Hindi ba kayo sanay sa kagandahan ko? Nakakagulat ba talaga ako, after 13 years?
“(Why are you guys looking surprised? Are you guys not used to my beauty, yet? Is it really that shocking, after 13 years)?”
On Kapamilya Online Live, the anticipation of the Madlang Pipol for Vice’s return was well reflected by the number of the show’s concurrent viewers, which peaked at nearly 75,000 on YouTube. Another 20,000 viewers tuned in on the show via the Showtime Online U feed, also on YouTube.
On Twitter, the show’s official hashtag, #ShowtimeMQAxTNT, topped the local trending topics, with netizens expressing their delight over meme Vice Ganda’s return.
