Matet De Leon aired her dismay on social media, after learning that her adoptive mother, Nora Aunor, has started a ‘gourmet tinapa and tuyo’ business like hers.
Matet de Leon could not help but air her frustration and dismay, over her mother’s apparent move to compete directly with her business. On December 4, de Leon called out her mother on Instagram when she learned that the Superstar launched her gourmet tuyo and tinapa business.
She posted a photo showing the products being sold by her mother.
“Would you do this to your children? Honor your father and mother. How? How can I do that now? Ay, ampon pala ako,” de Leon captioned her post.
She shared that she received suggestions to just resell her mother’s products, and stop competing with the Superstar.
“Nung isang gabi, sinabihan ako na na mag resell na lang ng products ng nanay ko. Pinag hihirapan namin ang pagtitinda. Bakit all of a sudden, nagulat na lang ako, naglabas ang nanay ko ng direktang kumpitensya ng produkto ko. Alam niyang may produkto akong ganyan.. Marami naman daw akong taping.
“(Last night, I was urged to just resell my mom’s products. We exert efforts to sell our own. Why is that, all of a sudden, I got taken aback when mother decided to directly compete against me? I’m pretty sure she knows very well that I sell those kind of products… I got told that I have lots of projects, anyway),” she shared.
This brewing feud between De Leon and Aunor caught the attention of netizens, especially those who are familiar with the Kapamilya series, Kadenang Ginto. It can be recalled the series also had characters (played by Beauty Gonzales and Dimples Romana) who were directly competing with each other via a ‘sardine-making’ business.

On a Vlog she released yesterday, De Leon admitted that she felt betrayed by her mom’s actions, especially when she learned that her brother took part in the conceptualization of Aunor’s business.
“I feel betrayed, para akong trinaydor. Ampon na ampon ang pakiramdam ko ngayon. Ang lakas makaampon nang ginawa nila. Damang dama ko ang pagkaampon ko.
“(I feel betrayed. I feel as if I am truly not a real family member to them. What they did really made me feel as if I am really an adopted child. I feel that to my bones),” she said.
The Superstar, Nora Aunor, is yet to issue a statement or any form of clarification regarding her daughter’s tirades.
