‘Maria Clara at Ibarra’ actor Juancho Triviño made the rounds online after he responded to netizens comparing him to another priest actor overseas.
Trivino currently portrays the role of Padre Salvi in the hit fantasy portal Kapuso series.
In his tweet on January 17, he posted a screenshot of a netizen’s post. The netizen compared his character as Padre Salvi to Korean actor Cha Eun Woo’s Priest Johan from the movie ‘Island’.
It had over 240k reactions from netizens. Trivino then jokingly stated that netizens should not expose his handsome face online.
“Magsi tigil kayong 242k na tao, at nakakahiya sa ibang lahi na pinapakita ninyo na ang mga sugo sa Pilipinas ay muy guapito. Dapat tayo ay mapagkumbaba lamang”

Trivino remarked, “Magsi tigil kayong 242k na tao, at nakakahiya sa ibang lahi na pinapakita ninyo na ang mga sugo sa Pilipinas ay muy guapito. Dapat tayo ay mapagkumbaba lamang.”
This was not the first time that Trivino posted about his MCAI character that garnered amusement from netizens.
He previously shared a skit with fellow actor Kiel Rodriguez who plays Renato in the series. They shopped at a convenience store while wearing their MCAI character outfit.
Renato compared Padre Salvi’s head to a bottle of roll-on while Padre Salvi chose a pet treat for himself.
While Padre Salvi has a bald head, Trivino clarified that this is not an issue of baldness but something related to religious aspects.
He said that Padre Salvi intentionally had his hair cut on the top of his head because it was normal practice for priests back in the day.
Maria Clara at Ibarra continues to be the number-one drama series in the country.
According to the Nielsen NUTAM People Survey, the Kapuso series dominated the leaderboard ranking in the first week of 2023.
