At the media conference for Nightbird, covered by LionhearTV on January 3, actor Mark Anthony Fernandez asserted that he doesn’t miss being a matinee idol.
Fernandez cited how he wanted to progress his showbiz career from the start.
“Kausap ko ‘yung isa sa mga boss natin, and sabi niya, ‘mas– somehow mas new flavor and fame.
“I mean sinong ayaw maging Robin Padilla di ba? I mean ‘yung mga ganong teeny-bopper lang ‘yun. Sometimes it’s because of bagets di ba? Pero, kung gagawin mong platform ‘yun that would be questionable.”
He also considered that he was ‘more hot’ now than when he was younger.
“So no, feeling ko nga, sabi noong kausap ko, mas hot pa tayo ngayon, with everything, with all the elements. Pero, ‘yung ano, definitely not.
“Kung physically lang, mas macho ako ngayon, dati may parang ano pa ako– dati nga may bulimia pa ako. Pero, I thank those years, it put food on my table, pero sasabihin mong it’s very– I really like the — I think that sa society, a little bit more important, sabihin natin fifteen years ago, ten years ago, so no, hindi.”
He then shared how he didn’t let his fame get into his head when he was young.
Fernandez stars in the revenge-action film Nightbird with Christine Bermas, Arron Villaflor, Sid Lucero, and Felix Roco. Under the direction of Law Fajardo, the Viva revenge-action film streams on Vivamax starting January 13.
