After three years, showbiz icons Christopher de Leon, Tirso Cruz III, and Edgar Mortiz will [once] again light up the stage via their upcoming pre-Valentine concert, all thanks to Charo Santos-Concio.
“Bago nila ito malaman, bago i-discuss sa kanila, ina-approve ni Tita Charo, siya talaga,” Flor Santos revealed to the press on January 10 at Oriental Palace.
“Tita Charo kept her hands in the preparation of the concert from brainstorming up to choosing the perfect playlist.
“Ang galing ni Tita Charo, siya talaga nagbuo ng idea. ‘Flor, alam mo ang talaga na nito.’ And si Tita Charo talaga ina-idolize pala niya kayo [Edgar, Tirso and Christopher] mag-perform.”
While Flor was thinking of organizing an event, Santos-Concio shared with her how she adores the icons, especially what happened on their first show, Goin’ Bananas, and didn’t mention any other celebrity names during brainstorming.
Since the concert’s idea came from Santos-Concio with Malou Santos, and Dreamwings; and Direk Alco Guerrero directing the show, Flor promised that they will give Valentine’s show that is beyond what is expected.
“We are giving you a show na hindi lang basta-basta,” Flor stressed.
Cruz III, de Leon, and Mortiz’s concert, Some Kind of Valentine will have Lovi Poe as a special guest. It will be a two-night pre-Valentine concert on February 3 and 4 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
