On December 17, actor Sid Lucero attributed his mentality in handling fame to his family and their showbiz background.
At the virtual conference for Bugso, covered by LionhearTV, Lucero noted that his parents, Mark Gil and Bing Pimentel, brought him up with the mindset of what fame could do him.
“Naniniwala ako na malaking bagay ‘yung fact na lumaki kami sa isang pamilya na ito na talaga ‘yung mundo eh. And, so parang, from birth pa lang, we have a very–there’s a very, very clear definition of what fame can do to you, and what it does.
“So bata pa lang kami, we we’re already brought up in such a way na– I mean, of course, we all wear masks naman, but its– kasi when I was younger din, they would ask me, ‘How was it growing up with parents who are famous?’ I always say, I don’t know what it’s like because I don’t know any other world, eh.”
Lucero also cited how his childhood guided him as he entered showbiz.
“And I think that’s a [big] factor of how we carried ourselves, especially the ones who come after– the ones who belong in a generation of actors, di ba? They don’t [really] — like Cherrie Gil isn’t [really] Cherrie Gil behind the camera, di ba? But there are a lot of people who come in who are really like that, and I think being part of a family–kind of like guides you from turning into something like that.”
As for his upcoming Vivamax film, he stars in Bugso with Ayanna Misola and Hershie De Leon. Under the direction of Adolf Alix Jr, Bugso will stream on Vivamax Plus on December 26 and Vivamax on December 30.
