Kapuso hunk star David Licauco talked about his previous relationship in an interview with Boy Abunda.
On February 6, David Licauco and Barbie Forteza were the guest celebrities for Abunda’s talk show Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.
Licauco revealed that he is currently single.
Abunda did not believe the statement as he thought Licauco got back with his girlfriend.
“Hindi naman ako naniniwala, nagkabalikan kayo, e,” said Abunda.
Licauco was shocked as Abunda knew details about his lovelife that he did not share with anyone.
It turned out that the actor dated a woman, but they broke up because of a third party. They then got back together but eventually called it quits.
“Hindi, hindi kami nagkabalikan,” said Licauco.
Abunda continued, “I know you’re separated. Naghiwalay kayong dalawa and then ang alam ko, there was another guy involved na kilala nating dalawa.
“Was that the reason, David, why you got back?”
The actor then explained that the third party was one of the many reasons why his previous relationship ended.
“Wait lang, first of all, bakit alam nyo yan? But, yeah, I would say that was the reason behind the breakup. I mean, among other things, ayun yung pinaka-main reason.”
Abunda then revealed that Licauco’s previous girlfriend wanted to get married but he was not ready yet.
“Yeah, I’m not ready. Because go-getter kasi ako and mas gusto ko yung career muna, and siya kasi nasa stage na siya ng… wait lang, hindi ko gets kung bakit alam!
“Bakit? Parang wala naman akong sinabihan.
“Nagkabalikan kami pero nag-decide kami na maghiwalay na,” continued Licauco.
Meanwhile, Abunda also talked about a Kapamilya artist that Licauco dated back in 2018.
Licauco admitted that being in different networks made their relationship difficult to maintain. Also, he admitted–he got heartbroken when they went on separte ways.
“Taga-ABS siya. So, di ko siya kaya. Wala, it’s hard. May love team. Siyempre, at the time, hindi pa ako artista, hindi pa marunong i-handle. Pero siguro now, okay lang.
“Sobrang umiyak ako nu’n. Pero siyempre once na-accept mo naman na yung fact kung bakit wala na. Ganu’n naman yun, e.
“Meron akong nakitang quote, sabi, ‘It’s not about moving on, it’s about acceptance.’ Kapag na-accept mo na, okay ka na,” he said.
Licauco currently stars in the hit Kapuso historical portal fantasy series Maria Clara at Ibarra. The series is in its final two weeks.
