Host-comedian Anjo Yllana felt sorry for the rumored internal conflict happening inside Eat Bulaga! management.
In an interview with the YouTube channel Chika at Ganap, published on March 9, the former Eat Bulaga! host shared sadness over what’s currently happening with the country’s longest-running noontime show.
“Syempre unfortunate kasi matagal na eh, 43 years going 44 this July. Eh, parang ang wish lang naman ng TVJ umabot sila ng 50, yun lang ang kanilang goal, eh.”
The comedian, however, added that while it is disheartening if ever the rumored split will push through, he said, the show’s 43 years on the air is already a blessing, especially to those who have been involved with the program like him.
He also wished continued success for Eat Bulaga! and TVJ, if they ever come up with a new noontime program.
“Nakakalungkot kasi after 43 years, eh ayan medyo nagkakaron na yata ng problema. Pero if you look at the other side, 43 years na pala yun, sobrang daming blessings na yun sa lahat ng involve sa Eat Bulaga! including myself. 20 years din akong nakinabang din dun diba.
“Kaya unfortunate nagkakagulo ngayon. Sad at the same time, kung maayos nila kung meron mang maayos. Kung hindi naman, kung maghihiwalay man sila, eh sana maging successful pa rin sila kung dalawang ano na sila, dalawang Eat Bulaga! na.”
Meanwhile, according to Jojo Gabinete’s article on Pep published on Friday, March 10, TAPE Inc.’s management is set to conduct a press conference on April 15, 2023, to address all the issues concerning Eat Bulaga!
Gabinete also added that a reliable source has confided in him that one of the changes that will happen with Eat Bulaga! is the entry of Louie Ignacio as its new director. A well-loved former TAPE Inc. executive is also set to make a comeback to the show.
