David Chua celebrates birthday with celeb friends, ‘Good Will’ co-stars

Actor/director David Chua celebrated his birthday in the company of his Good Will co-stars and production crew, as well as fellow celebrities from his ALV Talent Circuit family.

Spotted at the star-studded advance celebration held earlier this week at the posh Dasmariñas Village residence of Korina Sanchez-Roxas were his Good Will co-stars Devon Seron, Raymond Bagatsing, Smokey Manaloto, Kat Galang, James Caraan and Ryan Rems.

Popular BL actor turned entrepreneur Teejay Marquez was also onhand for ‘quality bonding time’ with his ALV brother. Also present were Dark Carnival Productions big bosses Milano and Mickey Sanchez, David’s business partners.

And of course, David’s manager, ALV Talent Circuit top honcho Arnold Vegafria came all the way from his busy weekend sortie in Olongapo City.

The celebration was also a timely get-together for the Good Will production crew, which marked a significant milestone in preparation for the show’s second season. Having successfully hurdled the snags and jitters of the first season, the cast members feel positive about flexing their comic talents to the hilt with a new pool of writers headed by top comedian Alex Calleja.

David, who also participated in the 1st Net25 Golf Cup last March 20, also feels thankful for the support of the network’s top management who consider him as an integral member of the Net25 family.

For his special day, local showbiz’s emerging oppa can’t help but express his gratitude for the manifold blessings from the past year. Constantly evolving, constantly reinventing himself, the chinito hunk has taken on several challenges, including producing music videos and documentaries, building his very own self-sustaining production studio, conceptualizing and writing his own TV shows, and even finding time to hie off to New York to sit in as juror at the prestigious Soho International Film Festival.

These may seem like a truckload of chores for the ordinary mortal, but not for David.

Somehow, he still manages to free up his sked to pursue his noble advocacies. The self-confessed dog lover has apparently been doing his own share of rescue ops for strays and other marginalized canines, especially from his community in downtown Manila.

“I’ve actually built some sort of a dog shelter and so far, I think we’ve housed close to a dozen dogs already. I’m quite proud to have nursed some of them who came in really bad shape. Now, they’re all healthy, fluffy and feeling the love and care that they probably never experienced all their lives,” he proudly shares.

So, what’s on the birthday boy’s wish list?

“Global conquest!” he declares.

“Seriously, our local entertainment industry is teeming with collabs from all over the world, and even our big artists are flying out to explore uncharted terrain, even in Asia and the U.S. Now that we’ve proven our mettle as a production team, we feel more confident about producing local content for adaptations, and it’s still my big dream to do local adaptations of popular K-drama franchises, particularly Goblin.”

“To be behind the cameras would be good enough for me, but to act in front of the cameras would be an even bigger bonus.”

On a personal note, when will the ever elusive bachelor eventually settle down?

“I’m taking my time,” he says. “Of course, being inspired by the right person should always be the main driving force to anyone’s success, right? So, the more inspired I get, the more fearless I become in claiming and eventually actualizing my dreams.”
