On March 22, director Gino M. Santos aired his thoughts that the Jayda Avanzado and Aljon Mendoza pairing is ‘destiny.’
At the set visit for Teen Clash in Quezon City, Santos noted that Mendoza wasn’t even supposed to audition for the character but landed the role nonetheless.
“You know what you call that–you call that ‘destiny’ because he wasn’t even supposed to audition. So, ganon lang ‘yun. So I’m happy for them that [they we’re able to] work it out.”
Avanzado then expressed her gratitude to the Kapamilya team behind the series for the momentous launch of their series.
“It was just a lot of gratitude I think, that was kind of the general feeling. Siyempre may kaunting kaba. Ako personally, siyempre parang yung anticipation of marinig ‘yung mga reactions nila. Pero noong parang papalabas pa lang po ng unang scene, we heard like the audience’s reaction in the cinema, and ‘yun nga positive, wala nakakatuwa lang talaga.”
She also thanked the heads of ABS-CBN for trusting them with the project.
“And siyempre, we feel grateful that the bosses–they trusted us with this opportunity, and they actually came there and graced us with their presence. So ayun, malaking bagay ‘yun para sa amin. And everyone who graced our event, sobrang thankful talaga kami na– all of these people are so busy, but they made time for us–and to appreciate our show.”
As for Mendoza, he considered the Teen Clash’s launch event a dream come true.
He also highlighted that he feels proud of the cast and crew of the series, especially their hardwork.
