If being the talk of the town is the metric, Liza Soberano’s handlers have perfectly achieved their goal.

For a couple of weeks now, Soberano has remained one of the most talked-about celebrities in the country. Her latest interview with Boy Abunda on GMA Network’s Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Friday, March 10, has [again] gained social media and traditional media attention.
But how do these controversies affect her social media engagement?
According to the social media analytics website Social Blade, the noise generated by Soberano’s controversial statements has put a dent instead of a gain on her social media engagement.
After premiering her controversial This Is Me vlog, Soberano has already lost almost 15,000 Instagram followers, with the biggest drop on March 2 at -4108.
Meanwhile, for the past 30 days, Soberano’s Instagram followers were down by more than 11,000, or a decline of 13.5%.
The decrease in Instagram followers has also dislodged her as the second most followed Filipino celebrity, which now belongs to Kathryn Bernardo.
Soberano’s career rebranding met with mixed reactions from the public and her former co-workers at ABS-CBN.
While there are still loyal fans, most netizens responded negatively to her “unthought-off” statements.
