On March 6, actor Piolo Pascual highlighted his advocacy for Philippine films to break out internationally.
At the media event for Sun Life Financial’s ‘Wheel of Life,’ Pascual discussed his initiative of championing Filipino content to international markets.
He shared, “I want us to break out internationally, in terms of our film output, ‘yung Filipino films na mag-break out internationally. So that’s one of my goals, for us to champion our content to ‘bigger’ markets–the international markets because I think that’s what we’re missing.”
He then detailed how they are trying to partner with organizations to improve the quality of Filipino productions.
“So we’re trying to partner with different organizations to help us to get the better incentive or [better] budget for our films so that we can produce it better–[so that] we can be proud of what we can show to other markets,” the actor said.
As for his personal life, Pascual insisted that he feels content with all the opportunities he has right now. He emphasized that he is content, happy, and fulfilled in his life.
Pascual also addressed why Filipinos feel hesitant about getting insurance policies.
“I guess there’s a misconception kasi about insurances, so that’s why I’m happy with the way how SunLife handled me over the years, you know, coming up with new policies every year.”
He pointed out the value of the personal relationship between a financial advisor and a client in educating people about financial security.
“That’s why we have [also] financial advisors–it’s [important] to have that kind of relationship, a [personal kind of] relationship, so that you can explain to your clients or people who are interested [to get] kind of information they need to know. Because back in the day, hindi naman natin alam ‘tong mga ‘to.”
In 2022, Pascual had a jam-packed lineup of projects, including ‘Flower of Evil’ and ‘My Papa Pi.’
