Korean star Sandara Park made the rounds online as netizens compared her to Filipina-American actress Liza Soberano following the latter’s self-rebranding issue.
In Soberano’s vlog on February 26, she reinvented herself and said she’s been pursuing what she really wanted for herself ever since. She left her home network, a talent agency, and a manager.
People had mixed reactions as some claimed that the actress seemed ungrateful to her home network while others supported her decision.
Netizens then compared the actress to Sandara Park who also left ABS-CBN to build her own career.
On Twitter, netizens praised Park for rebranding herself but did not burn bridges.
Kailangan niyo ng peg ng nag rebrand at nag pursue ng creative freedom but acknowledging and respecting where she came from? Sandara Park.

Dara never forgot where she started and the people behind it. She is now known worldwide pero never naging braggy or lumaki ang ulo. Humblest Kpop legend I know. https://t.co/osx83YneYh

Imagine garnering these votes when she's not even a Filipino & the country is not that tech savvy that time.
She is the "highest voted SCQ finalist"with almost 500k votes.
Dara didn't burn bridges because she knew how small their industry is. https://t.co/CFcPVtrclx

Pasabog si ati eh, biglang nag debut nalang sa Korea and boom successful Musician, Actress, Ambassador and etc. She never said a word nung umalis sya, instead she works hard without the knowledge of everyone and starts making her own name but still grateful from where she came https://t.co/1D0EeWSwCu

Wala talagang masamang tinapay kay ate mo. She doesn’t burn bridges but looks back with gratitude instead. Kung tutuusin, sya yung may dahilan maging bitter. Well anyway, I loved her when she was Sandara/Sandy and still love her as Dara. https://t.co/alF7cagZua

Simple lang yan: love the industry and the industry will love you back. Dara rebranded herself but never, not once, did she trash on her past experiences dito sa Pinas, and she’s not even Filipino by blood. Kaya goodluck dun sa isa. If I were her I’d take acting workshop first 🫢 https://t.co/XiRtVm0X4K
