On April 13, Kapuso actress Carla Abellana revealed her role in ‘Voltes V: Legacy’ came at the right time.
At the pocket interview for ‘Voltes V: Legacy’ which LionhearTV covered, Abellana admitted felt anxious about her role in the show adaptation.
Abellana revealed, “I was a bit anxious kasi if ever, ‘yung aking magiging first taping or parang first show to be a part of after getting married and all that.”
She then cited that the offer for the role came to her around the time the controversy about her marriage surfaced. She furthered, “So, parang back to work, parang medyo ilang months din ‘yung lumipas, of course, given din ‘yung circumstances, you know, whatever blew up, with the speculations, all the issues na lumalabas, talagang mangangapa ka, and then mag-wo-worry ka, parang imposibleng hindi ka maging anxious eh.”
She also discussed how she channeled her vulnerability to help her with her role.
“But definitely yes, it came at a first time kasi hindi ako hindi ready, hindi naman ako ready-ng ready. Kumbaga, I was ready, I was eager to go back to work noong time na ‘yun, but at the same time, I was still in a really vulnerable state, which was also okay. Kasi, important din naman ‘yun sa amin as actors, so nagamit ko din naman ‘yun.”
The actress added, “And talagang ‘yung timing, sobrang perfect noong timing para sa akin kasi, basta excited akong makabalik ng trabaho, makapag-taping, and then vulnerable but hindi naman ‘yung super sensitive or anything. But vulnerable enough na alam mo ‘yun na I get in touch with my emotions again, and then makapag-focus ako sa ibang tao other than myself, ‘yung character ko naman ang aking magiging focus, so tamang-tama lang ‘yun.”
She then surmised that if the role came early or late, she wouldn’t have effectively used her emotions to portray her character.
As for their series, ‘Voltes V: Legacy’ stars Miguel Tanfelix, Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, Raphael Landicho, and Ysabel Ortega.
The cast also features Martin del Rosario, Liezel Lopez, Carlo Gonzales, Gabby Eigenmann, Neil Ryan Sese, Albert Martinez, Christian Vasquez, Abellana, Dennis Trillo, and many more.
The Kapuso sci-fi adaptation, directed by Mark Reyes, will air soon on GMA Network.
Aside from that, they also have an upcoming cinema sneak-peak event (Voltes V Legacy: The Cinematic Experience) showing the first three weeks of the series before its much-awaited premiere on primetime TV in May, from April 19 to 25, in SM Cinemas Nationwide.
