On April 17, Dr. Camille Garcia revealed what sets actress-TV host Karla Estrada apart from previous Face2Face hosts.
At the media conference for the upcoming ‘Face2Face’, which LionhearTV covered, Garcia disclosed that Estrada tried to break off an intense confrontation during the TV5 show taping.
Dr. Garcia shared, “…siguro one thing na nakita ko dito, ‘yung passion ni Mama Karla, kasi first time, nakita ko lahat ng host eh, siyempre. One thing na nakita ko last time na nag-taping kami, was the fact that Mama Karla was one of the bravest mothers kasi nakita ko, siya lang yung nakita kong umawat.”
She added, “Hindi pa ako nakakakita ng umaawat na host. And, I’m so happy na parang nagulat ako, umawat talaga siya. So doon ko nakita talaga na iba ‘yung host namin. Sigurong ma-eenjoy talaga namin at makikita namin ‘yung passion niya.”
She also recounted her years before the show’s reboot, admitting to the thought of retiring as a psychologist. She narrated, “First and foremost, nagpapasalamat ako sa TV5 at tsaka sa Cignal, kasi noong sinabi sa akin ‘to, hindi ako naniniwala. Dahil parang–palaging sinasabi na babalik, babalik, pero parang sabi ko, after nine years, parang imposible na, in fact parang lahat ng anything, souvenirs, t-shirts, pinamigay ko na. So parang feeling ko wala na talaga. And then eventually, sabi ko, ‘Nako, nag-60 na ko, magre-retire na ako.'”
She then felt ecstatic hearing Face2Face return on TV5.
Dr. Garcia continued, “So noong nangyari ito, parang naging adrenaline junky nanaman ako. Na kapag nandito ako iba ‘yung pakiramdam ko kasi dito lang ako nakakapag-payo na hindi ako masyadong nagagalit sa mga ina-advisan kong mga bata. Kasi minsan sa counseling, maiinis ko dun sa mga batang hindi nakikinig.”
She detailed her dynamics with her fellow members of TrioTagapayo on the TV5 program. She said their combination is so harmonious that it never reached the point of them overlapping in giving advice.
‘Face2Face’ aired in 2010, and the in-person confrontations made it a trending show. From 2010 to 2013, TV5’s program was hosted by Amy Perez, and from 2012 to 2013, by Gelli de Belen.
Face2Face’s reboot returns on TV5 with new hosts Karla Estrada and Alex Calleja.
Joining them are the new TrioTagapayo Atty. Lorna Capunan, Dr. Love Jun Banaag, with the returning adviser Dr. Camille Garcia.
Under the direction of Frank Lloyd Mamaril, Face2Face airs on May 1 at 11 am via TV5 and Cignal TV.
