The TV host-actor expressed his excitement for his upcoming projects on GMA Network, noting their importance in his continuing growth as an artist.
Matteo Guidicelli is now a Kapuso.
The actor-TV host was officially welcomed on May 11, at the Seda Hotel in Quezon City by his new family, GMA Network. Signed under GMA Public Affairs, the heartthrob actor delightedly shared his happiness over finally rejoining GMA Network, which he worked with for three months– 10 years ago.
Crucial in Guidicelli’s move to GMA Network is his supportive wife’s encouragement.
The new Kapuso artist shared during the press conference that Geronimo, herself, convinced him that he fits perfectly in GMA Public Affairs, which is responsible for many of the Kapuso Network’s multi-awarded documentaries, as well as special dramas.
“Masaya. Sabi niya ‘love, bagay ka doon sa Public Affairs,” he shared, when asked about what his wife felt over his move to GMA.
“Alam mo noong sumali ako sa Army, four years ago, sabi ko, ‘sa lahat ng projects na gagawin ko, ibibigay ko lahat talaga nang matindi. Gusto ko ‘yung projects na gagawin ko will really represent the Filipino people, and tell the stories of the Filipino,” he said passionately, noting how monumental his decision to join GMA, is, in his quest to serve the Filipino people.
‘So, sabi ni Sarah, ‘love diyan ka bagay. Your prayers are answered’, because of GMA,” he added.
Guidicelli revealed his transfer was supposed to happen as early as last year.
“The negotiations and the meetings started last year, and it did not take place last year because I think the timing was not the perfect timing,” he explained.
As his first project in GMA, Guidicelli will join the morning news magazine program, Unang Hirit. As someone used to waking up early, he shared that the stint excites him very much.
“Yes, I’m a morning person and I’m excited for this ‘morning’ journey” he said.
Guidicelle believes that the timing for his Kapuso comeback could not be more perfect.
“I think good things happen eh, when you just wait…wait for the right door to open, and you know…life brings you to certain moments, where new purpose is born kumbaga,” he told the press, as he also recalled the journey he took before coming back to GMA Network.
“I’m very, very honored and blessed na GMA welcomed me here, especially to the Public Affairs team. It’s incredible,” he shared.
Aside from Unang Hirit, Guidicelli is all set to do several projects under GMA Public Affairs, including docu specials and an action drama-series titled Black Rider.
