Kapamilya host comedian and “Unkabogable Star” Vice Ganda pens a prideful message about their noontime show, It’s Showtime.
In a tweet on Friday, May 19, Vice shared how happy he was with that day’s episode. He noted how the program continues to excite him despite being on the air for 13 years.
Vice Ganda expressed, “After 13 years It’s Showtime still excites me! The energy, the tension, the fun, my co-hosts, the Madlang People. It’s far from perfect but I love it. I’m so happy with today’s episode!”

During the “Isip Bata” segment on Friday’s episode, the ‘It’s Showtime’ hosts really enjoyed interacting with the Madlang Hakot. Vice even asked Nanay Jocelyn to sit in as one of the “Batang Cutepos” because of her funny personality. In the jackpot round, Vice Ganda, the other hosts, and the “madlang people” tried their efforts to help the contestant win the 325,000 prizes. They gave hints to the Batang Cutepo partner Jaze. But, still, luck was on the contestant’s side because he missed one question.
Meanwhile, for 13 years, ‘It’s Showtime’ has gone through several ups and downs.
During the height of the AlDub phenomenon in 2015, many thought ‘It’s Showtime’ would finally bow down and close its curtains.
In 2020, the noontime show was again tested when the pandemic hit, and eventually, ABS-CBN’s broadcast shut down in May. Without their free TV platform, It’s Showtime, along with other Kapamilya programs, found its new home in the digital space.
But not too long after, a free TV platform opened up again with ABS-CBN’s block time agreement with A2Z in October 2020.
In July 2022, the Kapamilya noontime show got wider reach as it airs on TV5. But it had to slide down to the 12:45 p.m. timeslot as a compromise to TV5’s pre-noontime show ‘Tropang LOL’.
However, due to significant public demand, It’s Showtime moved back to its original and well-loved timeslot at 12 noon on May 1, 2023, following the cancellation of ‘Tropang LOL’.
‘It’s Showtime’ features three exciting segments: “Rampanalo”, “Isip Bata”, and their “lifesaver,” “Tawag Ng Tanghalan”.
