On May 12, filmmaker Raynier Brizuela talked about his acting career on the social networking platform PGAG.
Brizuela made it clear that his PGAG character was distinct from his profession as a director during the story conference for the next Viva Films and GMA Pictures partnership, which LionhearTV covered.
But, iba pong story telling po ‘yun.”
The director also explained that he wanted to explore social media language.
Brizuela said, “…gusto kong maintindinhan, ‘yung lenggwahe ng audience, ‘yung makabagong audience, ‘yung Gen Z, and it helps my craft din as a film-maker…in-win po eh, kasi ‘yung social media content ngayon, di ba parang may mga pranks, may mga ganon. Hindi ko naman po minamaliit ‘yung mga social media content na ‘yun.”
He then described his comedy as “wholesome” to entertain young people.
He added, “Sabi nga ni Michael V, na parang we have to create good content. And I think ‘yun ‘yung naging goal ko po PGAG, na mag-create ng wholesome comedy na pwedeng panoorin ng mga bata. …di ba mga 13 years old pwede ng mag social media, kung ano-anong makakalkal, so sobrang laking effect ng social media for me in terms of kung paano mai-influence ‘yung manonood.”
He then clarified that the techniques he got from being the creative director in PGAG and a director in film work hand-in-hand in improving his craft.
PGAG features short skits and comedy videos, including JiConyo. Their social media pages are available on Facebook, Instagram, and Tiktok.
