Eighteen-year-old actor Aidan Veneracion is taking on a challenging role for GMA Network’s murder-mystery drama series ‘Royal Blood.’
During a press conference for the show on June 19, Aidan revealed that he sought tips from Ken Chan, who had previously played a character with high-functioning autism, to prepare for his role.
The young star, who was launched as one of the Sparkle Teens in April, is thrilled to take on his very first teleserye as Archie Royales, the mentally-challenged son of Mikael Daez and Megan Young’s characters.
He revealed that during the audition process, he had not originally auditioned for the role of Archie, but fate had other plans.
The production asked all the boys to audition for various roles, and he was surprised when given the chance to audition for a character with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Undeterred, Aidan immediately delved into research to prepare for the role.
“Noong audition po talagang nagulat po ako kasi hindi po ako nakapag-prepare for that role na mayroong autism spectrum disorder (ASD) kaya ayon nag-research ako,” Aidan shared.
Aidan’s acting journey began with a guest appearance on ‘Wish Ko Lang’ in November 2022, where he first experienced working on a taping set.
Joining Aidan in ‘Royal Blood’ are his Sparkle batchmates James Graham and Princess Aliyah.
Directed by Dominic Zapata, ‘Royal Blood’ premiered on June 19 at 8:50 p.m. on GMA. Fans can watch this thrilling series every weeknight at the same time on GMA; and at 11:30 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, and 11 p.m. every Friday on GTV.
