On July 7, actress AJ Raval’s mother Alyssa Alvarez expressed her thoughts and feelings in response to netizens’ comments about her participation in the ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ segment of ‘It’s Showtime.’
In a TikTok video, Alvarez acknowledged that her singing was not perfect but expressed her gratitude for not receiving a gong from the judges, indicating that her performance was not deemed worthy of elimination.
Alvarez also clarified that she was not exempted from the ‘constructive criticism’ from the judges and emphasized that her showbiz background had no influence in her participation. She added that ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ is not a popularity contest.
Furthermore, Alvarez revealed that she was suffering from cold, fever, and cough which prompted her to take a break. She mentioned that she took time to read comments on social media to avoid being irked.
Alvarez expressed a mix of amusement and frustration towards some hurtful comments and reactions she received. She shared one comment from a netizen who stated that she missed a note.
She also responded to comments suggesting that she should have been gonged. Alvarez expressed her emotions regarding this criticism and even brought up the issue of tax payment.
“Sana kayo na lang nag-judge. Anong klaseng mindset yung alam ninyo? Pag ba na-gong yung isang contestant magiging masaya kayo?
