During the media conference for ‘Battle of the Judges,’ Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo made a surprising revelation about her relationship with current partner Dominic Roque.
Alonzo disclosed that she might not have pursued a romantic relationship with Roque if he were still actively working as an actor.
On July 9, when asked about her love life, Alonzo shared that she had asked Roque about his current acting projects. Roque clarified that he was no longer acting and had recently turned down a project.
Alonzo then laughed when asked if she gives career advice to Roque. She then revealed that if Roque had still been pursuing acting, she might not have entered into a relationship with him as she preferred not to date someone from the showbiz industry.
“Alam mo, isa lang ang unang tinanong ko sa kanya bago kami nag-date, ‘Nag-aartista ka pa ba?’ kasi sabi ko ‘Hindi na ako magde-date ng isa pang artista’ [Pero] sabi niya hindi na.”
It seems that Roque may have indeed taken a break or quit his acting career, as Alonzo revealed that he has been focusing on a business.
“Pero matagal na naman pala siyang hindi nag-aartista kasi mayroon siyang starting business.”
Fans of Alonzo and Roque are thrilled to see them together, and Alonzo expressed her happiness in embarking on this new chapter with Roque. She also highlighted Roque’s responsibility in various aspects of their relationship.
During the interview, Alonzo also clarified that she and Roque have discussed engagement, addressing recent speculations about their relationship status.
“Nakakatawa nga akala ng mga tao engaged na ako. Alam mo na-bi-bring up na. S’yempre lagi naming pinag-uusapan ‘yang mga ‘yan. S’yempre, hello, nasa edad na ako.”
Alonzo further revealed that she got to know Roque better during the pandemic, and they have been in a no-label relationship for over a year. She also mentioned that their families have a good relationship.
Their relationship started in January 2021, and they celebrated their second anniversary in January of this year.
Alonzo serves as a judge on the GMA show ‘Battle of the Judges’ alongside Boy Abunda, Jose Manalo, and Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, with Alden Richards as host. The show will premiere on July 15.
