On June 17, Sandy Andolong and Chanda Romero attested to Herlene Budol’s genuine attitude on the set of  ‘Magandang Dilag.’

At the media conference for the series, Romero recounted how she immediately saw Budol’s hardwork.

“The first day I reported to the set, na with Herlene sa tent, right away alam ko na hindi ako mahihirapan sa kaniya, because I saw pages of handwritten lines niya in yellow pad. And I was thinking, she means business. And I was hoping na sana hindi lang pang first day ‘to ha.

“True enough, hanggang last day ganyan siya, kahit na wala siyang tulog, kahit na pagod na pagod siya, she has so many things on her plate.”

She praised Budol’s respect for her co-stars in the upcoming Kapuso series.

“I love her also because she respects her colleagues, she respects our time, our effort. She knows this is a craft, hindi talaga ako mahihirapan sa kaniya. I liked her from the very start, and I just liked her even more. Kaya nga nakakatawa kay Herlene, sobrang ano kasi siya, kapag nate-take two siya, pag balik niya sa dressing room, ayan na iiyak na.”

Andolong emphasized Budol’s honesty and genuine attitude as a new Kapuso lead.

“Hindi mahirap na mahalin si Herlene kasi napakamagalang niya. The first time that we met, ano siya agad, what you see is what you get. She’s a very honest person, and that’s what I love about her.

“Kung ano man ang lumabas– masplook niya, kung ano ‘yung lumabas sa bibig niya, ganon siya, siya ‘yun. Wala siyang pretentions. Walang ano. Gustong-gusto ko ‘yun. She’s so so real and honest to herself, pati na rin sa aming mga ka-trabaho niya.”

She also acknowledged Budol’s eagerness to learn and be a good actor.

“At napaka magalang niya, and she’s so eager to learn, she’s so eager to be a good actor, eager siyang maging ‘yung magkaroon ng magandang–maayos na pangalan sa sarili niya. Plus the fact na alaga niya ‘yung pamilya niya. Malaking bagay na ang priority niya ay ‘yung tatay niya, at mahal na mahal niya ‘yung nanay niya.”

As for Budol, she expressed how much she appreciated how Romero and Andolong helped her out with her first lead role in a Kapuso project.

“Thank you po talaga, thank you po sa pag-guide po sa akin. Never akong nagutom sa inyo, lagi pong ‘yung paborito kong donut, tapos may lolipop pa.

Magandang Dilag stars Budol, Benjamin Alves, and Rob Gomez.

The cast also features Andolong, Romero, Muriel Lomadilia, Adrian Alandy, Maxine Medina, Bianca Manalo, Angela Alarcon, Prince Clemente, and Jade Tecson.

Under the direction of Don Micheal Perez, ‘Magandang Dilag’ airs on GMA Network Afternoon Prime starting June 26.
