On August 11, Kapuso star David Licauco considered his role in the series remake of Maging Sino Ka Man as his most challenging role yet.
At the opening event of Blue Water Day Spa at the Estancia Mall, Pasig City, which LionhearTV covered, Licauco, one of the establishment’s endorsers, explained that he found the fast-paced action sequences and the ‘kanto’ slang as the most challenging part of the project.
“I’d say the most challenging role na nabigay sa akin ng GMA Network kasi ‘yung action iba talaga. And on top of that, ‘yung the way I talk. Kasi doon, mas mabilis, astig, medyo kanto, medyo mahiyain kasi ako eh. So malaking shift siya when it comes to talking. Hindi lang acting ‘yung mabilis magsalita.”
He also noted how he enjoyed working on the project because of his co-stars, Barbie Forteza and Juancho Trivino.
“But so far, I’m enjoying it, of course, I’m with Barbie. And the rest of the cast is here, Juancho is also here, tsaka nakaka-amaze ‘yung passion ni Governor Estregan, dahil napakagaling niya, super passionate siya sa ginagawa niya na action scenes.”
As for his preparations, Licauco revealed that he watched Robin Padilla’s Maging Sino Ka Man film from 1991.
“Yeah, in a way, pinapanood ko siya, everytime na nagka-cardio ako. Mahilig kasi akong mag-elliptical spin. So ‘yun na nga, marami akong ginagawa and lagi kong ginagawa na kapag mayroon akong ginagawa, dalawa ‘yung ginagawa ko kasi marami akong ginagawa.”
He also hinted at scenes that would show off his athletic physique.
“Wala nga po ako muscle eh. I think may mga topless po, pero hindi naman ‘yung mga topless na just for the sake na magpakita lang ng katawan. Kumbaga mayroon ring pinanggalingan.”
