On August 5, Entertainment writer and social media influencer G3 San Diego reacted to Pura Luka Vega’s ‘Ama Namin’ drag performance.
At the media event for ‘Tiktalks’ Season 2, which LionhearTV covered, San Diego first stated that she’s a fan of drag.
“My thing is– as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, ako, I’m a big fan of drag. I go and watch drag shows regularly with my friends.”
However, she clarified that she would call out other LGBTQIA+ personalities if she saw something wrong.
“But I’m also– I recognize [also] that there is a duality to me. Not only because somebody does something with regards with the LGBTQIA+ community, I can find no wrong with that because we belong to the same community.”
She then asserted that she’s a bigger follower of Christ, citing that people should keep religious beliefs sacred.
“I’m a big fan of drag, but I’m a bigger follower of Christ, and for me, there [are] somethings that should [be] kept sacred. And that is the Lord’s prayer.”
Earlier, Drag Den contestant Pura Luka Vega came under fire from Filipino netizens after a video of their ‘Ama Namin’ drag Performance surfaced online.
As for the second season of ‘Tiktalks,’ San Diego remarked that she wanted to discuss LGBTQIA+ relationships and the double standards they face in society.
“Ako naman, gusto ko naman mapag-usapan more on relationships within in the community, within the LGBTQIA+ community, kasi hindi naman madalas napag-uusapan sa mainstream TV.
“Something more current, something more controversial in a way.
“Kasi ‘yun marami rin kasing double standard within the LGBTQIA+ relationships and the heteronormative relationships. We’re held to a different standards talaga. At kapag napag-uusapan siya, mas nabibigyan ng liwanag, mas nabibigyan ng kaalaman, ng pagtanggap na pare-pareho lang tayo lahat when it comes to love.”
As for the Second Season of ‘Tiktalks,’ the hosts Korina Sanchez, Pat-P Daza, G3 San Diego, Kakai Bautista, and Alex Calleja continue their banter-filled and insightful discussion of various topics every Sunday on TV5.
