‘Eat Bulaga’ host Isko Moreno has garnered the admiration of netizens for his advice to Lala Sotto and the entire Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) that they should infuse their public service with a sense of empathy, especially since their programs, including the rival show ‘It’s Showtime,’ have a significant impact on the lives of Filipinos.
In a TikTok video that has become the talk of the town, Isko Moreno offered gentle guidance to the agency and its head, Lala, who faced criticism following the controversial suspension of the Kapamilya noontime show.
“I think you should know better, if and if, the chair or head of such agency ay galing mismo sa showbiz industry because you know better than anybody else na maraming umaasa sa likod ng camera,” Yorme said.
He emphasized that Lala should have been more understanding of the potential consequences of the suspension decision, as it doesn’t only affect the viewers and artists but also the people working behind the scenes to make a living.
“Hindi lang dapat puro utak, kailangan nilalagyan mo rin ng puso. And that’s what you call public service. You serve the public, you protect the greatest number, and at the same time, you show empathy, care, understanding, and compassion. That’s how the government should be functioning,” Isko added.
Netizens appreciated his statement, with some suggesting that he would be a fitting MTRCB chair given his showbiz background and empathy for both viewers and media workers.
“Saludo talaga kay Yorme. Public government is how to protect the people not to be show how power of being in the top,” one commenter said.
“Public servant defines protecting the greatest numbers. Yorme nga, ang galing! Alam din kaya ni ahemmm ‘yun?” another netizen quipped, referring to the MTRCB decision.
Some fans of both noontime shows hoped that the hosts of ‘Eat Bulaga’ and ‘It’s Showtime’ would come together and appear on each other’s programs for double the fun.
