Raquel Pempengco, the mother of Jake Zyrus, formerly known as Charice Pempengco, has expressed her pessimism regarding her child’s return as Charice.
This statement comes following recent reports suggesting that Jake might be attempting to reclaim his former identity as Charice, particularly after encountering difficulties during recent performances.
Various columnists and fans have observed a shift in Jake’s singing style, with the artist seemingly working to embrace a more masculine vocal range, moving away from the distinctive voice for which Charice was celebrated. This shift has raised concerns that some fans are no longer as interested in Jake’s performances.
In her statement, Raquel urged fans to relinquish the hope that Charice would make a comeback, underscoring that it is ultimately Jake’s decision to make.
She stated, “Huwag na po tayong umasa pa na babalik pa ang dating CHARICE..ako na po ang magsasabi nyan…Naniniwala po ako sa himala pero na kay Jake na ang desisyon para baguhin nya ulit sarili nya.”
Raquel also added a touch of humor, suggesting that if she were blessed with another child, she might create another Charice.
She humorously noted, “Kung papalarin po hintayin nio na lang na magkaroon ulit ako ng baby CHARICE pra idevelop ulit…hehehe kaya lang huwag umasa dahil masasaktan lang tayo lagi..Sana po Clear na sa atin lahat. Yung mga naglalabas po ng ganyang balita eh gusto lang pong dumami ang views nila…Hanggat di ninyo naririnig sa bibig mismo ni JAKE eh huwag po tayong maniniwala.”
As of the time of this writing, Jake has not confirmed whether he is actively working to return to his ‘Charice’ voice, despite claims made by some content creators. Additionally, there has been no news regarding Raquel’s pregnancy.
