Entertainment-Lifestyle website LionhearTV recently marked its 15th anniversary in October and is now gearing up for the 9th RAWR Awards.
This annual event symbolizes LionhearTV’s unwavering commitment to recognizing excellence in the showbiz industry.
The RAWR Awards has evolved into a spectacular celebration of entertainment celebrities, bringing together not only a 250-strong support from new media practitioners (bloggers) across the Philippines but also PR groups and fans of the nominated stars.
The RAWR Awards story began in 2015 when the blogging community was on the rise, but there was a noticeable gap in recognizing and celebrating the voices of bloggers and their dedicated readers. To bridge this void, LionhearTV established the RAWR Awards.
Each year, the RAWR Awards are presented through LionhearTV.net, aptly named after the mighty lion, symbolizing strength and influence in the entertainment world. Awardees are individuals who have left a significant impact on the industry.
Initially, the awards were exclusively organized by LionhearTV, with winners determined by the website’s loyal readers. Over time, the voting process expanded to include more than 100 bloggers from different regions of the Philippines, each representing diverse niches. Despite its challenges, this dedication continues because it embodies the collective voice of the blogging community, deserving recognition within the broader entertainment industry.
The RAWR Awards is composed of four primary categories: Lion, Cub, Pride, and SILOG Awards. The Cub Awards feature nine subcategories, including Beshie ng Taon, Favorite Bida, Favorite Kontrabida, Breakthrough Artist, Favorite Newbie, Bet na Bet na Teleserye, Song of the Year, Movie of the Year, and Digital Series. The Lion Awards comprise nine categories, celebrating the Actor of the Year, Actress of the Year, Pak na Pak na Comedian, Male News Personality of the Year, Female News Personality of the Year, Love Team of the Year, Favorite Performer of the Year, Favorite TV Host, and Favorite DJ. The Pride Awards include four categories, honoring the Radio Station of the Year, TV Station of the Year, Favorite Group, and Fan Club of the Year. Lastly, the SILOG Awards feature 17 categories, recognizing digital influencers and content creators across various domains such as Art, Content Creation, Cosplay, Couples, Digital Influence, Drag, Fashion/Beauty, Food/Travel, Gaming, Health/Fitness, Influencer Families, LGBTQIA, Parenting, Podcasts, Streaming, Short-Form Vlogging, and Long-Form Vlogging.
The RAWR Awards, with a total of 31 categories, together with the SILOG Awards, consisting of 17 categories, give the Filipino entertainment industry a platform for appreciation and recognition.
Fans play a significant role in determining the winners, with 66.66% of the voting power. This power is divided into two equal parts: 33.33% from online votes through the website and KTX and 33.33% from online searches within LionhearTV, Dailypedia, and PH Entertainment. The remaining 33.33% is contributed by the blogging community, PR teams, and brand partners.
The RAWR Awards are not only about recognizing local talents but also about strengthening ties with relevant partners who share the same vision. The awards are an opportunity for LionhearTV.net to express its gratitude to everyone who has supported the website since its inception.
Voting will continue until December 4, 11:59 PM.
