On November 9, Kapuso actress Carla Abellana admitted that she was hesitant in accepting her Kontrabida-ish role for the ‘Stolen Life.’
At the media conference for ‘Stolen Life,’ which LionhearTV covered, Abellana recounted how she accepted her astral-travel-fueled-body-switching role despite her apprehensions.
“Sobrang kinabahan po ako, ayan po si Miss Kit, si Miss Kit (Kit Villanueva-Zapata) po ang naka-usap ko. I would like to thank her, because she really took the time to explain the role very, very well po. Ay grabe po, aminin ko I was hesitant at first kasi hindi ko alam kung kakayanin, kung kaya ko, kasi mahirap na nga po ang isang role, may dalawa pa pong role, and of course, it’s my first time playing na ganong salbahe na character.
“So, na-explain niya po ng mabuti at lalo po akong na-excite. And of course, working with an amazing cast, and looking forward po ako working with Direk Jerry for the first time.”
She noted how she enjoyed her cathartic role in the Kapuso project.
“Though mahirap siya, parang may times na it’s actually parang cathartic. Parang infairness po it’s a good release or way na mai-release ‘yung naipong energy, ‘yung ganon. Although pagod po talaga. Mahirap pero enjoy po kasi I guess first time ko rin po. I just went with it, I trusted na lang po si Direk Jerry, inaral ko po ng mabuti ‘yung character ni Fara, na lagi akong nag-oobserve, so many times naman po, talagang enjoy naman po ‘yung pag portray namin with bad Lucy.”
She then discussed the challenge of switching between the characters of Lucy and Fara.
“May switch na po kami sa brain, opo, ‘yun po ‘yung secret dito, ‘yung GMA po, may switch na po ang mga brain namin bago kami mag-taping, kasi ganon kami kabilis mag-switch ng character. No, but really, ang hirap pong hindi mabaliw sa pag-switch po ng characters as much as we want to have more time to prepare, minsan wala po talaga, one scene ikaw si Lucy, the next scene, ikaw si Fara. So ang hirap po. Pero, eventually, parang nakasanayan na rin po.”
She noted the production’s attention to detail in ensuring they accurately portray the characters in the series.
“Yes to the point po na ultimong positions po ng head, ng mata, ng kamay, ng braso, kailangan po eksakto po. So mine-measure po namin ‘yun. Because we do a lot of backplating, may mga effects po kami, napaka-precise po noon. Kapag namali po namin, hindi lang po iisa, minsan nagre-reshoot pa po kami ng another taping day. So mahirap po talaga ‘yun kasi a lot of our scenes ay ganon po. We do it not just once, twice, but we do it over and over, kasi nagpapalit po kami.”
