The situation escalated, leading to significant online backlash against Herlene.
In a comprehensive post on the platform X, Herlene shared the impact of the issue on her professional life, revealing challenges in focusing on tapings amid the controversy surrounding her alleged involvement with a co-actor in a committed relationship with a child.
She clarified that her background from a broken family did not define her character, emphasizing that her grandparents raised her well.
While acknowledging the humor associated with her public persona, Herlene clarified that she participates in jokes, including those related to her famous catchphrase “Kain.” However, she strongly rejected the portrayal of her as the type of woman targeted in the criticisms.

“Besides, kung sino man nag labas na screenshot na yan ay pwede kong kasuhan ng Data privacy, defamation at cyber libel.”
