On January 17, Kapamilya star Alexa Ilacad remarked that she felt proud to see her on-screen partner, KD Estrada, grow as an artist with their role in Pira-Pirasong Paraiso.
At the media conference for Pira-Pirasong Paraiso finale, which LionhearTV covered, Ilacad highlighted her partner’s growth with their first teleserye project as a love team.
“It’s just another first for the two of us together. So, I’m [very] happy–I’m very proud of [him] because it is [his] first teleserye ever, period–first-ever. So, I’m just happy watching him grow, and I discovered so much about him, [about myself, and about] how we work together that I feel is [going to] be helpful for us in the future or [for] our future projects together.”
She also noted how she grew as an artist working side-by-side with Estrada and their Pira-Pirasong Paraiso co-stars.
“So, I’m just [really] satisfied, [very] happy and fulfilled with how everything turned out, with our characters, individually and together. And us personally, our personal growth. I believe I’ve grown a lot as an actress and a lot of that [also.] I [would] like to [give credit to] KD because he really helped me a lot in this show.”
She then recounted how Estrada would support her while working on the set of the Kapamilya series.
“Aside from the three girls and our production, siyempre siya ‘yung pinaka-nakakaintindi sa akin, like kapag tinotopak na ako ng slight or kapag super tired na ako ng slight, siya talaga ‘yung nagbi-build sa akin at always pushing, reminding me that I did great during the times na I feel I didn’t give my best. So ‘yun, it’s been such a great journey. And because it is our first, it’s a journey I will always remember.”
As for Estrada, he considered himself lucky to have Ilacad as his on-screen partner.
“For me, sana all may Alexa, because I’m [very] lucky to have [a partner] –a partner who’s like Alexa. She’s always supportive–and she also gives me tips. She doesn’t teach me, hindi niya ako kino-coach on set, pero she gives me, ‘Maybe if you tried it this way or you tried it this way.'”
He then cited how Ilacad and their co-stars would give him tips with his first teleserye project.
“And anyone who gives me any tips, I take that to heart because I want to grow as an actor. And I want to solidify that in this industry and working with Alexa–it’s our first teleserye together and she’s done so many, this is my first. Our dynamics would clash sometimes, pero we work around it because that’s who we are.”
