In a recent press conference for the series ‘Senior High,’ actress Andrea Brillantes made a bold declaration about her career choices, revealing her decision to step away from the conventional love team setup in the entertainment industry.
The young Kapamilya star expressed her desire to carve her path as a solo actress, highlighting the significance of self-growth and the chance to explore diverse aspects of her career.
Brillantes, who has been part of various love teams since her early days in ‘Annaliza’ at the age of 10, shared insights into her journey of collaborating with different actors. This includes her current co-star JK Labajo, with whom she first worked in the 2016 series ‘Pangako Sa’yo.’ Embracing the opportunity to work independently, Brillantes finds newfound joy and fulfillment in her craft.
Having navigated the complexities of partnerships from a young age, the actress expressed, “Ang dami ko nang napagdaanan sa shows na lagi akong may kapartner. Noong nagkaroon ako ng opportunity na pwede na akong maging solo artist, gusto ko na siyang i-explore. Ngayon, super ko na siyang nae-enjoy.”
While Brillantes acknowledges and supports love teams in the entertainment landscape, she believes that being part of such a dynamic does not align with her personal growth. She values the independence and the opportunity to shape her career without being reliant on a partner.
“Personally, mas nakakakita ako ng personal growth kapag mag-isa ako. Pero support ako sa mga love teams. I have nothing against them. This is just my personal opinion,” she added.
In the same media conference, Brillantes expressed openness to working on a girls’ love (GL) project with her onscreen best friend Xyriel Manabat. However, she also emphasized her respect for Manabat’s non-showbiz boyfriend.
Andrea Brillantes currently takes on the challenging roles of twins Luna and Sky in the ongoing youth series ‘Senior High,’ where she shares the screen with a talented ensemble cast.
