On January 9, Kapamilya artist KD Estrada effectively cut ties with the ‘KyJi’ fandom to protect Alexa Ilacad from bashing.
On his X account, Estrada posted a message to his previous fandom expressing that he didn’t want to get associated with the group.
“I DON’T want to be associated with this fandom and the other person of this ship no longer.”
He called out his previous fandom regarding the consistent bashing, hate, and criticism against Ilacad.
“I have kept these feelings in for 2 years, but some of you have already crossed the line. Your team CONSTANTLY bashes Alexa, who I genuinely care about, which some of you can’t seem to wrap your head around.
“I have let your hate and criticism towards me slide, I take that. But I cannot allow this “fandom” who claims to “support” me bash the family and person I love.”
He also addressed those who claim he changed after his time inside Pinoy Big Brother.
“And if you’re all asking for an explanation as to why I changed after PBB? I don’t owe any of you that. But if you want a simple explanation, it’s because I GREW UP.
“I am giving you the consent to send or even POST this to all remaining KyJi.”

Ilacad also shared an Instagram post, seemingly alluding to the bashing incident Estrada was referring to on his post.
“Just because I don’t confront you about what you did or said about me, doesn’t mean I don’t know. If I have learned nothing else in my season of growth; I know that every action doesn’t deserve a reaction and it’s okay to walk away from people who have wronged you.”

The fandom Estrada referred to on his post was the KD Estrada-Anji Salvacion (KyJi) fandom.
Netizens initially saw the chemistry between Estrada and Salvacion while inside the PBB house. However, Estrada and Ilacad grew closer as time went by.
After exiting the PBB house, ABS-CBN formally launched KDLex as one of their love teams.
