On December 21, content creator Yanyan de Jesus voiced his opinions on social media personalities getting acting projects.
At the media conference for ‘My Zombabe,’ which LionhearTV covered, de Jesus highlighted the benefit of having a platform in social media for aspiring artists.
“Actually, some people may see it as a bad thing, pero for me, I don’t see it as a bad thing. Yes, they’re inexperienced, pero they’re given the chance, or the opportunity to be that person. And para sa akin, kung ako, kabilang po ako doon, gusto ko po paghirapan ko po ‘to.”
He then promised he would work hard to learn and achieve success in mainstream media.
“Hindi ko po kini-claim ‘yung sarili ko na artista, gusto ko marami akong marating, marami akong matutunan, it’s a long process, pero I want to work hard for it, para po ma-prove ko sa sarili ko na hindi po sayang ‘yung binigay sa akin.”
He then discussed his experience crossing from social media to the mainstream entertainment industry via Viva Films.
“Actually it’s unexpected kasi sobrang unexpected din po ‘yung pagiging Tiktoker ko eh. Kasi hindi po siya planado. Parang once in a blue moon ‘yung opportunity presents itself, you grab it.
“Kasi po dati, nag-aaral po ako, tapos ang hilig ko lang po talaga, sumayaw, tapos I joined a dance company, tapos I never really thought that I would come this far and ine-expect ko po na kasi na mag-aaral ako, na nagkakaroon ako ng job, and then I will work, and then you know. Pero, unexpected pa rin talaga na I’m here.
“I’m super thankful talaga kay Lord, super thankful ako sa mga taong nandyan para sa akin, nag-stay, sumuporta sa akin.”
